ROXY...Roxy and a male housemate were abandoned at the shelter by their owner (who later retrieved the male but left Roxy).  At first she was a little overwhelmed by her new predicament, but eventually she did settle into the routine of shelter life. She began coming to handling class with JAD volunteers and polishing up her manners. However the stress of being in a noisy kennel environment 24/7 began to take a toll on Roxy and she was clearly in need of a reprieve. Big-hearted, pit bull lovin’ JAD volunteers Chelsea and Joe answered the call and helped this little darling out (thanks you two!).

Roxy is about 50 pounds, three years old and dog selective. She is polishing up her skills and manners while she waits for her forever home. Interested in Roxy? Email for an adoption application or more info on.... Roxy

more Abbie...

ABBIE...Abbie found herself in a local shelter and she waited patiently for someone to claim her. But no owner showed up.  When we met her, the stress of being kenneled was taking it’s toll on her, she had a thinning coat and kennel cough, but she was as optimistic as we ever could have hoped. She wiggled and danced around, play bowed at other dogs and otherwise begged for a foster home....how could we resist?

Abbie is a dog social, 55 pound 3 year old who would love the company of a well matched doggie housemate. She may also be able to live with a dog savvy cat. ...contact us for more info about Abbie

more GiGi...

GIGI...Gigi came to us by way of BAD RAP in the aftermath of the country’s biggest dogfighting bust from the summer of 2009. As we expect, she is a resilient, confident dog who adores people. She does not dwell on her past and greets each day with a classic pit bull wiggle.

Gigi is smart and stubborn and she will need a like minded, consistent and patient owner.  She is treat motivated (usually) and wonderfully people focused. She practices her doggie manners in our handling class every Saturday and is an excellent student. Gigi is about 45 pounds and 5 years old. She will need to be the only pet in her forever home. ...contact us for more info about Gigi

more Benny...
BENNY...This happy young gent showed up in a local shelter with a hitch in his giddyup. A quick trip to the vet and an xray revealed that one side of his pelvis was crushed…Oh No!  It appears that he received no vet care after some traumatic event and his injury has long since healed. It doesn’t cause him pain, and he receives a monthly injection of medicine to help protect his joints from early arthritis, however because of this, we consider Benny a "special needs" foster dog.  Benny is pretty sure it's just his shining personality that makes him "special". He was a staff favorite, and we know why.

Benny’s easy going style has allowed him to fit right in to his foster home. Dog social and living with a cat, he enjoys spending time both playing and just chillin’ out.  He is toy and treat motivated, but there is also a bit of a stubborn streak (no surprise there!) which will require a home with a consistent leader. Except for a slightly off kilter gait, you would never know he had an injury...contact us for more info about Benny
