ROXY...Roxy and a male housemate were abandoned at the shelter by their owner (who later retrieved the male but left Roxy).  At first she was a little overwhelmed by her new predicament, but eventually she did settle into the routine of shelter life. She began coming to handling class with JAD volunteers and polishing up her manners. However the stress of being in a noisy kennel environment 24/7 began to take a toll on Roxy and she was clearly in need of a reprieve. Big-hearted, pit bull lovin’ JAD volunteers Chelsea and Joe answered the call and helped this little darling out (thanks you two!).

Roxy is about 50 pounds, three years old and dog selective. She is polishing up her skills and manners while she waits for her forever home. Interested in Roxy? Email for an adoption application or more info on.... Roxy
HERMAN MUNSTER Comfortable bed, good food, leisurely walks, belly rubs... if some of these things make your list of "must haves" you and Herman Munster have a lot in common! This gentle, older boy is looking for a quieter home to call his own. Because kennel life at the shelter is a little too stressful for him, Herman is staying in a JAD foster home until he is matched with his new family. For more information please email Nicole or Tiffany.Shields@sdcounty.ca.gov

CAL...Cal came to from a local shelter where he was in need of some human direction and training. As we expect, he is a resilient, confident dog who adores people. Fun loving greets each day with a classic pit bull wiggle.

Cal is smart and stubborn and he will need a like minded, consistent and patient owner.  He is treat motivated (usually) and wonderfully people focused. He practices her doggie manners in our handling class every Saturday and is an excellent student. Cal is about 40 pounds and 2 years old. He would a well matched friend in his forever home. ...contact us for more info about Cal

more Benny...
BENNY...This happy young gent showed up in a local shelter with a hitch in his giddyup. A quick trip to the vet and an xray revealed that one side of his pelvis was crushed…Oh No!  It appears that he received no vet care after some traumatic event and his injury has long since healed. It doesn’t cause him pain, and he receives a monthly injection of medicine to help protect his joints from early arthritis, however because of this, we consider Benny a "special needs" foster dog.  Benny is pretty sure it's just his shining personality that makes him "special". He was a staff favorite, and we know why.

Benny’s easy going style has allowed him to fit right in to his foster home. Dog social and living with a cat, he enjoys spending time both playing and just chillin’ out.  He is toy and treat motivated, but there is also a bit of a stubborn streak (no surprise there!) which will require a home with a consistent leader. Except for a slightly off kilter gait, you would never know he had an injury...contact us for more info about Benny
COLT...ended up at a local shelter after a proud vet, deployed overseas, could not longer take care of this fabulous guy.  He had straight legs that required some physical therapy, but now Colt is raring to go! This big headed is a 'leaner', always looking for attention from his human pals.

Colt is a dog tolerant, 60 pound 2 year old boy who would love the company of a doggie housemate ...contact us for more info about Colt
EMI...Emi found herself in a local shelter and she waited patiently for an owner that never arrived.  When we met her, she had a thinning coat and kennel cough, but she was as optimistic as we ever could have hoped. She loved to prance about and play bowed at other dogs. Chase is her favorite game! Just a Dog stepped  to rescue this cutie....how could we resist?

Emi is a dog social, 50 pound 4 year old who would love the company of a well matched doggie housemate. She may also be able to live with a dog savvy cat. ...contact us for more info about Emi
